The Feilding Star, Oroua & Kiwitea Counties Gazette Published Daily. FRIDAY, DECEMBER 18, 1896. BATHING SHEDS.
As regards amusements, Feilding is well provided. We have a bowling green, lawn tennis, cricket club, quoit I club, football club, jockey club, bicycle club, young men and boys' club, and other pastimes not necessary to enumeiale, but we are lacking in one thing, and that is a swimming club. Lots of our young men visit the Oroua river every morning, and no doubt thoroughly enjoy themselves. But in order lo make this pleasure even more pleasurable we would suggest that proper bathing sbeds be erected in some con venient spot. Such a structure would be a great convenience, and arrangements could be made to secure absolute privacy and comfort for bathers. The cost would be very trifling, because the necessary timber can be purchased very cheaply, and the labor would be a very inconsiderable item.
