Messrs Freeman It. Jackson and Co report as follows :— At our Horse Fair on Saturday a large number of horses came forward; bidding was slack except for draughts, and the result was rather a poor sale. At Waverley on Monday fair entries came forward, and wo cleared the yards with the exception of one pen of hoggets, at prices on a par with late rates. At St Hill Street yesterday fair entries again came forward, bat bidding was not so brisk. The Major portion of the entry changed hands before the close of the day. Pigs sold in favor of the vendorß. We quote: — Horses— Unbroken draughts, Lls 12s 6d to L2l ; broken draughts yip to Jj24; hacks and harness horses, up to L 6 123 6d ; others, 22s 6d to L 3. Cattle —At Waverley, steer?, L 3 ; yearlings, 273 to 373 6d. At St Hill Street, fat heifers, Li 36s to L 4 4s ; fat cows, L 2 16s to L;> v 17s : fat bullocks, L 4 63 to L 4 13-< ; cows and calves, L 2 l'ds ; yearlings, 28s; calyes, 5s to 12s; milkers, L 2 10s to L 3 17s. Sheep— At Waverloy, ewes and lambs, 7s 5d to lls ; hoggets, 8s 6d to 8s 9d ; wetherp, 6s 7d. At St Hill Street, fat ewes, 6s 3d ; shorn wethers, 6s 8d ; shorn hoggets, s^ ; fat lambs, 5s to 5s lOd ; wethers in woool, lls 3d : hoggets, in wool, 10s ; fat ewes in wool, 83. Pigs Baconers. 26-i ; porkers, 128 6d to 16s 3d ; others, 9s -3d to 12s. Messrs Abraham and Williams report : — The entry of stock at Colyton on Tuesday was confined principally to sheep. The bidding was dull, bat generally vendors' prices were in excess of ruling rates. For cattle the only competition was for nine young steers. We quote : — 2-tooth ewes, 6s ; fat ewes, 5s ; 10 to 20 months steers, 40a ; yearling to 15 months, 32s 6d. At Palmerston yesterday a full muster of cattle came forward, the bulk of the entry coming from Mr John McDonald's Horowhenua run. There were useful steeis throughout. Bidding for steer stock was fairly active, but heifers were quite neglected. Sheep in moderate numbers moved off somewhat slowly under the hammer : — 2-tooth ewes, 5a 7d ; forward wethers, 7s Id ; store wethers, 5s id to 6s 5d ; culls, 3s 4d ; fat bullocks, £0 6s to £6 ss ; light weights, Mssto£4 7s fid ; store bullocks, £3 14s 6d to £3 17s ; 2f yr. steers, i' 2 15s 6d to £3 6s ; 20 months do. £2 to £2 6s ; 15 to 18 months' 38s.
