Cowley, Donahoe, Hitchcock, Hoare, Lewis, Mac Don aid, McGlinchy, Miller, Wilson, and S. Jones. The latter is well -known as a member of the Australian Eleven whicb visited New Zealand several years ago. Melbourne, Dec. 16. Sailed — Tarawera for the Blnff. Justice Hodges, while cycling, was run into by another rider. A leg was broken and an ankle dislocated. Brisbane, This Day. Tbe Bank Bill passed its thirJ reading in the Council. Encouraging reports have been re«» ceived as to the decrease of tick. Tt is disappearing from the wholo infected districts and its spread is also arrested by th.G dipping operations which are proving very effective. Brisbane, Eec. 16. Bohan has been sentenced to death for the murder of Callaghan near Lerida Station. In a quarrel between the men, Bohan struck Callaghan over tbe head with a bottle, and killed him.
