The Licensing Poil.

(Per Press Association) Nelson, Dec 9. The Rev. Mr Gray,/president of the Nelson Prohibition Council writes to the Mail stating that while the Licensing Act of 1695 does not allow the votes polled for Prohibition to be added to the votes for reduction, the numbers published in Saturday's Mail seem to point to the conclusion that the whole of the redaction Totes have not yet been counted. He points ont that the strong probability is that from 80 to 90 per cent of those who voted " No license," voted also for reduction, and if that number be deducted from the published reduction vote, it leaves 400 and 600 only who voted for reduction merely, while the general opinion expressed it that a very much heavier vote was cast for reduction than for Prohibition. If this be the case the bulk of the 1010 will need to be added to the 131, and this will probably result in a reduction vote being carried.
