(Per Press Association.) Inveecabgill, Pec. 8. The Southland Metropolitan agricul. tural and pastoral show commenced today. The principal awards today were Shorthorns : Champion bull, Mr Bea▼en'n Young Bhtbe ; Ayshire : Champion bull, Mr W. Kankin, cow, Mx James Gait,' Polled Angus: Champion ball, Mr Officer's Monarch, cow, Hon, M. Holmes' May. Lincoln champion ram and ewe, Mr J. B. Sutton, who with hi 3 brother George took all the prizes. In Border Leicesters Mr John M'Koskie and M'Kerriher Bros, took all the prizes, the former's imported ram M'Gregor being champion, and the lafeter's ewe took the same honor. Romney Marsh champion ram aud ewe, Mr J. B. Logan. The Hon Mr Holmes took four firsts out of six classes. The Shropshire Down awards went to J.Reid and Sons, the only exhibitors. ; .;. i
