A silver medal has been presented to the Feilding Cycling Club by Mr JEI. J. Mingins, vice-captain, for the fastest time I to Awaburi and back, starting and finish- \ ing at Manchester Square. All riders i who desire to compete for the medal must , be started by nn official of the club and , the time taken by an official timekeeper r of the club ; competitors way ride any machine, and may choose their own time > or date to ride, and may compete for the ) medal as many times as they choose , within the specified time, viz., before , March 31st, 1897 ; pacemakers will be > allowed. Mr Mingins will not be a competitor. The competition for the medal should create a healthy rivalry amongst members of the club in their efforts to put up a record.
