Frozen Meat Trade.
The Colonial Consignment and Distributing Company, Limited, in their meat report dated 23rd October, state : — New Zealand mutton — The Tokomaru has arrived with 43,504, Ruapebu with 10,793 carcases ; the fndraghiri with 61,000 will probably dock to«day. Trade has been very flat, but little demand and prices lower, best sheep specially aofferiug, for many buyers of Canterbury matton, preferred Dutch at the prices it realised last week. North Island mutton kopt fairly firm at 3kd per lb. until a shipment, stalti and off colour from long storage, was marketed and the price fell Jdlb New Zealand Lambs —The Raapehu added 326 and the Tokomaru 5268 to the already heavy stocks. A number are put on the market daily, bat meet with little demand, many selling at any price to clear. The nominal price for best Canterbury lamb is 4d per lb.
