Wellington Wool Sales.

Messrs Murray, Roberta and Co. report asunder:— We submitted a catalogue of 680 bales, the greater proportion of which were sold nnder tbe hammer, and a good quantity of the balance was placed privately after tbe sale. There was a good attendance of buyers including representatives of Yorkshire houses, Wellington Wollen Company, local fellmongers, scourers, etc. Strong lustrous croesbreds were in most demand, and in view of the recent depression of the woollen trade at Home tbo prices realised for these wools sbonld prove satisfactory to growers. Bush-stained lots did not meet with such good enquiry, though prices for these wools also compare favonrably with present London quotations. Locks and pieces are keenly competed for. We quote as follows .—Superior Lincolns and strong erossbreds, 8d to B£d ; gooi Lincolns, and strong erossbreds, 7§d to 8d ; good fine erossbreds, 7d to 7£d ; partlystained erossbreds, 6± to 7+d ; badlystained erossbreds, s£d to 6|d ; good pieces and bellies, up to s|, good locks up 3d. Tbe United Farmers' 00-operative As. sociation (Limited) report:— There was keen competition for superior lines of fine crossbred, and B_»d per lb was paid for some exceptionally well-grown wools; ordinary clean greasy croesbreds. 1\& to 7fd ; parcels, slightly stained, 7d ; hogstained, from s±& to 6|d. The demand for best bellies and pieces was marked, •nd good prices were obtained up to s_rd for bellies, and 4|d for pieces ; locks 2d to 3d per lb. Out of a catalogue of about 400 bales offered, we disposed of tbe greater portion at satisfactory prices to the vendors.
