(Per Press Association.) Napier, Dec. 7. Louis Cantle, aged 30, committed suicide by cutting his throat with a table knife. Deceased was a prohibited person and had been in the habit of taking chlorodyne and painkiller. Later. It was shown tbat he had been drinking, though be had got nothing at hotels, and friends could not discover who got liquor for him. When the supply failed he drank chlorodyne and " pain killer," and was seen under the influence of theso drugs when be committed tbe deed. A verdict of temporary insanity through excessive drinking was returned.
