— — ♦- (Per Press Association.) London, Dec. 7. The English shipowners bave proposed to coalesce with the Hamburg masters to withstand the strike. It is reported at Hamburg that the Australian dockers have remitted 40,000 marks iv aid of the strike. Lord Elgin reports tbat partial rains are improving the Indian crops, and that prices are falling. Two hundred and seventy thousand people are employed on relief works. Constantinople, Dec. 7. The Young Turkish movement is extending, despite the constant arrests of members of the party, who are punished by torture and exile. Capetown, December 7. The Boers in Northern Natal and the adjacent^ Orange Freo State districts are arming and laagering. They profess to be afraid of a Native rising. Cairo, Dec. 7. The amount advanced by the Cai.-se de la Dette towards the cost of the Dongola expedition has been refunded. The Khedive has expressed his lively sense of gratitude for the Bri 1 ish aid in regaining the lost province.
