Colyton School Concert.
A concert was given in the Colyton Flail last cveniny iv aid of the Colyton school fund, aud was most successful The ball was comfortably filled, and the programme submitted seemed to meet with the hearty approval of the audi > j ,uce. The Misses Pleasauts opened with a brilliant pianoforte duet, and Miss Stewart gave a sne rendering of ' The Bridge." Mr Tong followed with *' The Divor," aD(I in rcspousc to an i-ncore sang the last verse. Mr Pepldie recited "Bill Jinks," bringing down bhe house, aud gave a description of polr> as an encore. Mr James sang " Killarney " with creat taste, and had *o repeat the last verse. Mr Grist concluded the first part by playing a march of his own composition. This so pleased the audience that he had to favor them with another piece. The second part opened with the song '* Home Boys Home" by Mr Wilson. In response to a decided encore he gave " The man that broke the bank at Monte Carlo." Mr Clapham then sang very feelingly " Whisper aud 1 shall bear." A duet followed by Miss Stewart and Mr Mitchell. The voices blended very sweetly iod the duet met hearty applause. Mr Grist gave a comic recitation. Mrs Thornley was encored for " I don't want to play in your yard,' and Mr Mitchell gave " Strangers yet." A laughable farce by Messrs Peddle and Drew concluded the entertainment. A dance followed at which the music was provided free by Miss Janet Stewart and Mr Stewart. The music was first class and dancing was kept up with great •jesto. Tbe whole affair was most successful and the committee are to beconupon having provided the means of having a good picnic.
