Napier, Dec. 1. The Hon. Mr Walker addressed a, large meeting to night in favor of Mr Carnell. Dealing with finances, he admitted that the Government had borrowed five and a half millions, but justified the expenditufe as necessary if the colony was to progress. Otherwise his speech was on the same lines as the Premier's at Hastings. At the close a vote of thanks was carried.
