Banking Matters.

(Per Press Association.) London, Nov. 29. At a meeting of the English, Scottish and Australian Bank the report was read and articles of association was altered in conformity with the Act. Mr Hogan said there need be no fear for the future of the bank, as the new business would be strictly confined to legitimate banking. The report of the Queensland Invest* ment Co. states there is a debit balance for the year of £3282, making a total debit of £14,743. This is stated to be the result of a large amount of unproductive property. Tbo report states that the funds in hand are sufficient to meet debentures maturing next year, and the financial difficulty is completely overcome. At a meeting of the Agency Land and Finance Co. of Australia, Lieut-Colonel Bosanquet, Chairman, said the gross profits amount to £23,043. Nearly £32,000 of the calls were in arrears in Australia.
