Frightful Accident.

A LAD HAS BOTH LEGS AND ONE ARM OUT OFF.

A painful sensation was caused at the Palmerston railway station on the arrival of the College-street school exenrsion train from Wellington when it became known that a lad named Twyford Carl Perrin, 16 years of age, whose parents reside at Terrace End, bad fallen between the carriages just as the train was entering the station, and had both his legs cut off just below the thighs as well as his left arm. It appears that the nnfortunate boy was standing on the carriage platform when a sudden jerk sent him off on to the line of rails, and several carriages passed over him. He was picked up in an insensible condition and taken to the Palmerston Hospital in a conveyance, and at a late hour was still alive tbongh in a most precarious condition. Little hope is held ont for his recovery. — Standard.
