I ret tress association j Wellington, Nov. 19. There was lovely weather for tb public day of the A. and P. Show an the attendance was a record oue fc Wellington, quite 11,000 being presen including the Governor and party. In fat stock, McHardy, if Kaikor North, and Tuckey, of Opaki, were th chief prize takers. Dobbs, of Palmers ton North, takes first in draught entrie with Napoleon, and Hessy was the bes filly. No first was awarded in the brooi mares class. In heavy draughts, Chal mers, of Wellington, with his horse Duk< was first, Stewart and Co., Wellington were first in the .mare or gelding clasi with Dolly. The City Corporation wen the chief prize-takers in the othei classes for heavy horses. In thorough breds Read's Egalite was first, Leigh ton's Beauty being first for mares. Ie light weight backs, Straing's General was first, and in ladies' backs, Mrs H. A Lomax's Slim gained the prize. Ladj Angusta Boyle won first prize for tandem team, aud His Excellency the Go vernor was awarded iirst in cobs. A. S. Baker, of Palmerston North, was the chief winner in polo classes. Mr Mcßae's Rambler won the leaping match, hunter style, and Bidwell's Caaate was second. These positions were reversed in the steeplechase jurup ing. The display of fat cattle was said to be the best seen in the colony. The Association should have a bani some surplus.
