Toe following are the traffic returns tor the Napier-Taranaki section for the four weeks ended October 10th, 1696, and for the corresponding period in " 1895 :— 1896 1895 £ s. d. £ s. d. k Passengers 6082 3 4 6009 5 6 ' Parcels 890 1 1 536 17 4 Goods 6368 17 1 6553 310 r Miscellaneous 197 14 1 194 5 9 Rents, etc., 663 5 8 600 10 7 , £14,202 1 3 13,894 3 0 5 A small but satisfactory increase. . The total for the colony to date was , £623,859 3s 3d, and to same date last year £574,136 14s 3d. This shows a marked increase.
