4, The census industrial statistics by tbe Registar-General show that tbe establishments for fellmongering, tanning, currying and wool-scouriug uava increased since 1891 from 104 to 117 Canterbury takes the lead of the provincial districts in this industry, with 29 establishments ; 690 bands receiving i>41,864 in wages. Otago follows with 28 establishments, 319 hands, and £24,532 of wages. Wellington comes next, with 17 establishments. 212 hands and £19,162 ot wages. Hawke's Bay has 16 establishments, 132 bauds, and pays i 10,133 in wages. Auckland is next with 15 establishments, 223 bands, and JE17.715 of wages.
