Mr Pirani at Bunnythorpe.
o — Long before the hoar fixed the Bunny* thorpe Town Hall was crowded last night, when Mr Fred Pirani delivered a political address. Mr D. Matbieson was voted to the chair, and referred in eulogistic terms to Mr Pirani's Parliamentary services. ; In reply to Mrs Matbieson, Mr Pirani said a petition from the women in the colony, in favor of the prisoner Chemis, would be of great assistance. In reply to Mr Dixon, Mr Pirani explained the tax on commercial travellers representing foreign houses, and his attitude on the licensing question. In reply to Mrs Dixon, Mr Pirani Baid he favored rents on Crown leaseholds being remitted for the first three years' occupation. In reply to a written question from " the ladies of Bunnythorpe," Mr Pirani said he favored a wife having a voice in the disposal of the family home, and. would support legislation to that efiectMr Joe Dixon proposed a vote of thanks and confidence. He said that Mr Pirani was not only a politician, bate an able statesman with sufficient force of character to carry his views into effect. No one who had been in the House like he had while Mr Pirani was speaking could fail to notice the attention paid tohis remarks on both sides of the House, and the influence he wielded. Mr Pirani was the best representative they could get and he had no doubt as to his reelection. The motion was seconded by Mr Egglinton and carried unanimously. — Standard.
