Intercolonial Band Contest.

(Per Press Association.) Wellington, Nov. 13. For the Inter-Colonial Band contest, which is to be held in connection with the Kxhibition on 20th and 31st December and Ist January, the following entries have been received : - Newton band, Sydney, (which won recent contest at Sydney), Parratnatta Band, Sydney : Wellington Garrison, Nelson Garrison. Canterbury Engineers, Marton Royals, Woodville Brasß Band, Napier Garrison and Stanmore Band. The solo competitors number 36. Colonel Newall will act as judge of the marching contest and Major Collins and Captain Patterson will be associated with him. Mr Anthony Grieve, of Ararat. "Victoria, will act as judge. The test piece comprising a selection from " Lucia de Lamruermoor," procured expressly from England, has been forwarded to the competing bands.
