The settlement of the dispute between Great Britain and the United States of America on the subject of the Venezuelan boundaries came at a most opportune moment. Of course the "jingoes" in the States claim that England was forced to comply with terms which were humiliating, but that is sheer nonsense hardly worth a moment's serious consideration. Lord Salisbury very gracefully gave Mr Cleveland, the President, much credit for the diplomatic skill the latter had displayed in dealing with the question, and a large majority of tbe Americans are much pleased with the implied compliment. The revival of trade and commerce between these two great nations must have a beneficial influence on air industries, and we in New Zealand will doubtless come in for a share of the good things by the new demand for ;wool which has become evident since the Presidential election was decided.
