Hospital Board.

The ordinary meeting of the above Board was held yesterday morning, Present— Messrs W. Park (chairman) Ransome, Harris, Goodbehere, Kendall, Ravenhill, Taylor. Correspondence was. received and dealt with as follows : — From the Treasury notifying that subsidy amounting to i? 587 6s 9d had been placed to the credit of the Board. The Executive officer replied that satisfactory arrangements had been made with regard to Mr Pope, who would remain at his home in Halcombe, the Board supplying him with rations. From Mr B. Whisker, Sandon, requesting payment of cost of burying Mr Tompkins of that place. It was decided to forward the amount of the Board's contract price for burials. The secretary was authorised to sue for various accounts due to the Board. Messrs Ransome and Park were appointed to affix the seal of the Board to a Deed of Trust with reference -to Mr Amphlett's property at Awahuri. Mr Freeman waited on the Board and requested assistance owing to failing eye* sight which prevented him working at his trade. The Board decided after discussion that the request conld not be entertained. The secretary was instructed to baro the concrete tanks at the Hospital put in working order at once, and also to see to several other minor matters that required attention. Various accounts were passed for payment and the Board adjourned.—Standard.
