A Notable Discovery.

(Per Press Association.) Berlin, November 8. A German expedition in New Guinea bas discovered a navigable river near Bismarck, running through a populated plain for 200 miles.

The finder of a pair of spectacles lost this morning will be rewarded on bringing same to Star office. A large crowd attended the memorial service held m tbe Army Barracks on on Sunday night. The sweep being half filled means at least a clear £2000 for Mr Travers, who up to this last turn of fortune's wheel on Tuesday was a hardworking man, straggling like thousands of others to rear a large family.— Levin Express.
