*. (Per Press Association.! Wellington, Nov. 5. Alfred Rowe, single man, aged 39, who is on bail to appear at the Supreme Court in Wellington on 16th., inst., is missing. He was last seen on horseback at the ford up the Raumahanga river, near Carterton apparently making for his home. This was at dusk on Sunday nighfc. His horse was found riderless next morning near the sauie spot. The river is being dragged. Dunedin, Nov. 5. At the Supreme Court to-day in Chambers application came up in the forms of summons to al! concerned to show cause why William Brown Vigers, one of the liquidators of the Colonial Bank, should not be removed from office. After hearing evidence and legal argument, at 6.15 p.m. the motion was dismissed. The other business dealing with calling on the directors and officers to show cause why they should not be publicly examined, is to stand over pending the report of the liquidators. The return from the Roxburgh Amalgamated Sluicing Company for the month is 117oz 4dwt 15grs, valued at £451 6s 6d. Auckland, Nov. 5. News by the mail from Samoa states that Mr R. L. Skeen, formerly of Auckland, has been elected Municipal Magistrate of Apua, in place of Mr Cooper, who is returning to Auckland. Mr Skeen was elected by a majority of one vote, bis opponent being Mr Carrutbers. The Mahinapua has left with the southern and Frisco mails at 1 p.m.
