Mr Chas. Carr's New Premises.

The increasing business in connection with Mr Ghas. Carr's stock sales and land agency has necessitated the erection of commodious offices and auction room at the corner of Eimbolton road and Warwick street. The building, which has been designed and supervised by Mr T. H. James, of the local firm of Messrs James and Heaps, architects, is classic in style and, being sanded, has the appearance of stone, which makes the Kimbolton road elevation both striking and handsome. The building contains two offices, each 16 x 14, and an auction or meeting room 29 x 20. The offices are each provided with fireplaces, walls and ceilings match-lined, and a 4ft 6in linoleum dado carried round the walls, which are painted in tints to match the colors in dado. One office is provided with a wide counter having a kauri top. The auction room is specially designed and constructed, so as to be extended at any future time to tne full depth of section (100 ft.) The floor, which has been constructed to carry many tons of grain and produce,, is level with the floor of an ordinary dray or express, to facilitate the unload* ing of produce, etc. Mr Ralph Heald has completed the work in a thoroughly workmanlike manner, and has been ably assisted by Messrs Watson Bros., pajniers, Fraser, plumber^ and. M^Uuni, bricklayer.
