A Girl's Body found in Wellngton Harbour.
(Per Press Association) Wellington, Nov. 2. Yesterday evening, about six o'clock, a man named Frederick Arnold noticed the body of a womon floating in the harbour at No. 2 berth, Queen's wharf. He im> mediately informed the police, and the body waa recovered and taken to the morgue by Constable Poland. The body is that of a young woman, and is well dressed, partly in female attire, but when brought out of the water was found to have on the coat of an officer of the Union Steamship Company. It is supposed that the working of the propellor of the steamer Penguin, which was moored in No. 2 berth yesterday, brought the body to the surface. Tbe deceased has not yet been identified, but the body is supposed to be that of a young woman named Madge Robinson, who was acquainted with some of the officers of the Penguin. Some ugly rumours are current concerning this sad, and at present, mysterious death, but of course these cannot be stated. — Times. Later. The coat found on the body of the woman Robertson has been identified, by letters in the pocket, as belonging to one of tbe officers of the Penguin. There is no suspicion of foul play at present, as the woman was known to have attempted to drown herself twelve months ago, and it is believed she either wilfully threw herself into the water or fell in accidentally. She was noticed to be in a depressed condition on Sunday.
