Feilding Starr-Bowkett Building Society.

o A special meeting of members was held at the office of tbe Society on Wednesday evening laet, to consider the advisibility of amending the rules of the Society in the direction of reducing the amount of appropriations from LIOO to Ll5O. About 20 members were present. Mr J. G, Cobbe, chairman of directors, presided, and after stating the object of the meeting explained that a reduction of the appropriation would enable the Society to declare the first dividend forthwith, and the arrears which members would haye to pay to enable them to participate in that division would bring in more than half the money required for a second one. He then moved that " L2OO " and " LIOO " be substituted for " L3OO " and * Ll5O " wherever the latter occur in the rules of the Society. Mr Dunlop seconded the motion which was carried unanimously. The Directors met after the special meeting, and fixed Monday, Nov, 16, for the appropriation.
