Accidents and Fatalities.

[Per Press Association^ Christchukoh, October 26. Mrs Hobeuet, wife of a station cook at Glenmark, was drowned in a fish pond on Saturday evening. She went for a walk with her daughter, a child of six, and sat down near the pond. She sent the child to her father for a bottle of herbal beer, kissed her goodbye, and told her to kiss her father goodbye for her mother. When the child got back she found her mother in the water, and her screams brought the gardener, who got the body out. At the inquest a verdict of found drowned was returned. At the inquest on S. J. Denham, well* known in swimming circles, who died suddenly, the medical evidence showed death was caused by heart disease. Napiee, Oct. 26. An inquest was held on the body of an American Negro known as " Little Dixie," otherwise Dixie Odgen, a drummer in the orchestra of the Charles Godfrey Company. Deceased was found dead on the floor of his bedroom in the Star Hotel on Sunday morning. The cause of death was peritonitis and rupture of an artery. Invekcakgill, October 25. A man named Nicol Miller was found dead in bed to-day in a small house in which he lived alone. He had poisoned himself with strychnine. Dunedin, October 25. A two-year-old child named Morrow was drowned in a water race at Cardrina. Auckland, Oct 25. J. W. Prime, aged 63, residing at Mangare, while struggling with a calf in the stockyard, dropped dead from heart disease.
