] Suicide at Birmingham'
Every one wfco knew Mr Carl Pandrop will regret to learn tbat he shot himself last night in his own house at FowJers. The deceased who was about 45 years of j age was one of the first settlers in the ; Birmingham Block and was well liked and respected. So far as we can learn it appears Mr Pandrop, who is a bachelor and owns a section of about 200 acres, has been unwell for some weeks and in : consequence has been having bis meals at Mr 2£. Burne's, who lives opposite. Last ev^niciK, #£ter tea, Mr Pandrop went to his cottage from Mr Burne's saying ho would go and tidy himsek es he might \ gQto church. He did not return jtnd 1 this morning at about seven o'clock Mri Burne weot l&ross to ask Mr ParK . drop to go over aod Jbaye breakfast. The doors were locked and Mr Burn.c qn,look- . ing through the window saw that B£r Pandrop had committed suicide by blow* ing his brains out, the gun used lying by his side on the floor. Mr Burne at once went to Fowlers and sent a wire to Constable Tuohy informing him of the . rash act. We understand an inquest will 1 ( be held to-morrow. ]
