The Benevolent Trustees Dispute.

(Per Press Association.) Dunedin. Oct. 12. A special meeting of the Benevolent Trustees was held to-day. The Chairman stated that he had received a letter from the Bank manager stating that in view of the threatened resignation of the Trustees snd the fact that they had no legal power to contract an overdraft he (the manager) would be glad if the cheques overdrawing account were held over in tbe meantime. As the Charitable Aid Board met on that day he had cent the letter to the Chairman. The result was that the accounts passed last week were not paid and there was no money with which to pay rents due that day. The trustees were stuck up during the discussion. Some members said they must decline to "sweat" the poor for the Charitable Aid Board, The action of the chairman in biding over cheques was approved, and the trustees adjourned till next day, when they will, it is believed, resign.
