Messrs Abraham and Williams report : Our sales for the week ending were held at Colyton and Palmeraton. At the former on Tuesday sheep were in moderate supply, but the demand was lifeless and very little was sold under the hammer. Afterwards a few lots were quitted but the business done was quiet and limited. Cattle, in few numbers, were dull also. Breeding ewee, (fair months) and lambs, lls ; fat ewes 10s 6d ; hoggets 8a 3d. At Palmerston yesterday, cattle were short of late supplies, but were equal to the demand. The young steers showed quality but lacked condition. A small supply of cow and ox beef of from fair to moderate quality came forward, the latter only selling. At auction business was limited though we cleared practically the lot afterwards, vendors' prices being pretty well maintained. For store sheep the prevailing tone was quiet. Hoggets receded in prices somewhat upon last week's rates, Show sheep made their first appearance for the season, the majority fat, down to those in ferward order ; for both these the bidding was better. Forward wethers, 12s Id ; stores lls ; hoggets, 8s 6d : fat ewes, 10s 6d to 10s 9d ; shorn fal wethers 8s Id ; forward do., 7s 3d ; shorn fat ewes, 6s 6d ; forward do. 5s 7d. Fat bullocks, L 6 ; 2i-year steers, L 3 8s ; 2 year do., L 2 19s ; 18 to 20-month steers L 2 lls.
