(Per Press Association.) Wellington, October 8. The colonial mails, which left Auckland by the Mariposa on September sth, reached London yesterday, due date. A notice appears in the Gazette drawing attention to the provisions regarding tbe export of butter and cheese. Christchukch, Oct. 8. At a meeting of the committee of the Canterbury A. and P. Association to-day, the scheme submitted for imposing a tax of 110 per annum on stallions used for stud purposes and devoting the proceeds to providing bonuses for stallions winning prizes and sires of those winning prizes at agricultural shows, was referred to the Horse Committee to report.
