0 "FHOM OPK OWN CORRESPONDENT. I .At a Morris tube practice yesterday eveuiug the following scores were made: — Sergt McMurray 28. Corpl Mann 27, Vol Stuart 26, Vol Smith 26, Vol J. Bennett 18. A meeting of the Awahuri volunteers will be held on Saturday night, to arrauge shooting i'or the prize kindly givcu by Captain Kirton. Tlie Committee of the Gymnasinm Club held a meeting last night in the Hall, when it was decided to hold a concert and dauce in aid of the Club funds on the first Friday in November. I believe the assemblies are going to wind up with h grand invitation ball, to take place the last week in October. Farmers has jnst about finished putting in their crops, and some have commenced already plonghiug for rape and turnips Several selfsown crops of oats are looking very well, as also do some wbich were sown early.
