Cycling Notes.
A general meeting of members of the \ Feilding Cycling Club was held last evening. There was only a small attendance, Mr H. C. Gapper presiding. Correspondence was read from the Rangitikei Cycling Club inviting members from this Club to their opening run on October 7th; from the N.Z.C.U. re annual meeting and the appointment of delegates ; from E. A. Feck, resigning bis position as Captain. It was resolved, That Mr Feck's resignation be accepted with regret and that he be elected a life member of tbe Club. Resolved, That it be a recommendation to the Cyclist's Union that all nominations for races run under the N.Z.C.U. rules must bear the signature in writing of the secretary of the club to which the competitor belongs. Resolved, That the secretary be instructed to thank the Rangitikei Cycling Club for their invitation and express this Club's regret at not being able to send representatives owing to local fixtures. Resolved, That a hearty vote of thanks be accrded to the Misses Bailey for their kindness in providing afternoon tea at the opening run. Resolved, That the date of the lantern parade be left to the executive officers to decide. Resolved, That the election of captain be left over to a future date, and that nominations for the position must be in the hands of the secretary on or before October 17th. The Rev. A. Innes Jones, and Messrs H. W. Giesen and D. Entwisle were elected members of the Club. A general meeting of members of the Feildiog Cycling Club will be held at the Feilding Hotel at 8.30 this evening. A full attendance is requested aa the busis ness to be dealt with i 9 important. The bicycle road race in connection with the Feilding Cycling Club arranged for this afternoon has been postponed owing ti the rain which fell during the day. The date for holding the race will bo duly notified.
At a meeting of the Manawatu Cycling Club held last evening it was resolved, on the motion of Mr Essex, That this Club constitute itself a North Island Executive for tbe N.Z.C.U., or take steps to form a North Island Union.
