A Peculiar Bankruptcy Case.
(Per Press Association) Invekcabgill, October 5. The examination of John Ryley before Jndge Williams in tbe Bankruptcy Court was commenced tbis morning. Tbe bankrupt admitted tbat he had been speculating at an average rate of £500 a year in min'iig speculations, but said be bad lost far more iv Bank of New Zealand shares, wbicb were more rotten than in mining. If he had b .en successtul tbe Bank would have got the lot, but as be bad made losses it was re* garded as a crime.
