Tbe bankrupt admitted tbat he had been speculating at an average rate of £500 a year in min'iig speculations, but said be bad lost far more iv Bank of New Zealand shares, wbicb were more rotten than in mining. If he had b .en successtul tbe Bank would have got the lot, but as be bad made losses it was re* garded as a crime.
