In Committee on the Land for Settlement Act Amendment Bill, the amendments suggested by the Waste Lands Committee were agreed to and the Bill reported with the amendments. In committee upon the Shipping and Seamen's Act Amendment Bill the Hon. Mr Jennings got a clause inserted compelling sailing vessels to carry a certain proportion of apprentices or boys. At 5 p.m. the Council rose for the dinner adjournment.
