In a letter to tne Premier the AgentGeneral calls attention -to the report of Mu Thomas Bocthwick on the condition of meat iu vessels. That gentleman states the number of damaged and condemned carcases has been enormous, which has had a very bad effect on the lamb trade, as these have to be on the market as quickly as possible, Nothing affects the colony's interests so much as this, and ship owners must either adopt means to prevent it, or some vessels with bad records will bave a difficulty in getting a cargo before loag.— Mercury,
