The Banking Enquiry.
(Per Press Association.) Welling ton, Sept. 27. The Banking Committee resumed at 10.30. The Chairman read a cable from Mr Murray, Sydney, stating that he had no recollection of seeing Hanna's report on the Estates Co. G. E. Tolhurst at ob« time connected with the Bank of New Zealand, was examined at considerable length respecting the position of the Bank in 1889. He expressed his willingness to assist in forming a model bank balance sheet. The Hon. Mr MacKemne was the next witness. He stated that he was no more under the influence of Mr "Watson than Mr Watson was under the influence of him. This Day. The Banking Committee held its final [ sitting this movning, when only a bare quorum was present. The Assets Realisation Board wrote stating any depreciation of flour milling properties was made provision for oat of profits as deemed advisable. It has been decided to apply to the House for a farther extension of time for seven days in which to bring down the report. A sub-committGO confuting of Messrs Graham, Seddon, and Montgomery has been appointed to prepare a draft report, and the Committee adjourned till 11 a.m. on Tuesday to receive that report.
