(Per Press Association.) Inykrcakgill, Sept. 23. The interprovincial football match Otago v. Southland was placed yesterday afternoon before 2000 spectators, and won by the local team by 11 points to uil. In the criminal libel case in the Supremo Court the jury wero out for 5\ hours without agreeing on the point of malice. His Honor then directed the jury to return a verdict leaving the question of malice or privilege for the Court of Appeal. Accused was then tentatively lined £10. Christchurch, Sept. 24. The Manchester delegates visited the Central Dairy Factory and Islington and Belfast Freezing Works to-day, and in the afternoon addressed a meeting at the Chamber of Commerce, They left in the evening for Wellington. Hawera, This Day. Mr B. C. Rollins addressed the electors last night, condemning the finance and administration of the Government. He announced himself an independent candidate. Wellington This Day. R. Whiteman's six roomed bouse at the Upper Hutt, was burucd. Nothing was saved. The loss was 800 above the insurauce, £200 in the New Zealand. The supposed cause was children playing with matches.
