(Per Press Association.) Dunedin, Sept. 17. John Walker, licensee of the Red Lion Hotel, was fined £1 and costs today for supplying a prohibited person. The woman supplied was charged with abtainiug the liquor. She appeared in Court drunk, and was locked up. The Westport Coal Company have received intimation that the ship Gainsborough with a cargo of coal from Westport, has become a total wreck at Honolulu. No further particulars are to hand. The cargo was insured, it is believed, in the Straits Office with reinsurance in other offices. A young man named Herbert Williamson has been committed for trial at Cromwell on a charge of forging and uttering a cheque.
