«•- Messrs Abraham and Williams report : — At Colyton on Tuesday, sheep came forward in moderate numbers. Bidding under the hammer was flat, though we quitted a fair proportion. Prices for hoggets were lower by Is. The entry of cattle was small, and nothing worthy of quotation. Best hoggets, 9s ; others , 4s 6d to 6s 6d ; store wethers 11s to 12s. At Palmerston yesterday cattle wero in excess of advertised numbers. The store bullocks and steers were 61 a useful character, the younger sorts being average quality. Bidding was dull, but the bulk wera disposed of privately. Sheep were in fewer numbers. Prices for fats remain unaltered. Hoggets, quality considered, sold better than at Colyton. Fat ewes, 11s to 11s 6d ; forward ewes, 9s 9d ; store wethers, lls lid ; hoggets, 8s 3d to 9s ; medium fat bullocks, £ 5 l'.2s ; better sorts, £7 5s ; fat heifers, £5 10s; grown store bullocks, £5 la to £5 ss ; 2-year steers, i' 35s j 18-months heifers (milking strains), 39s 'id ; springers, £3 10s to £4 10s.
