THE MISTAKE OP A M.H.R. MR TANNER, M H.R., spoke eloquently in Parliament reeutly on Pomah&ka oats, school boons, and the price of Tea. On the last named subject he said : •' It was all very well for Ministers and honorary members to claim, before ike general public the credit of having reduced the duty on tea 2d per lb. He questioned whether any family was 2d better off in consequence of what they did last year." While admitting that Mr Tanner may be an authority on oats and , school primers, his sweeping asser. tion regarding Tea is contrary to fact. It is admitted that in the matter of blendod teas it was in some cases alleged that no alteration be made in price, but the difference would be given in quality That may or may not have be*n done, but had Mr Tanner investigated the matter thoroughly he would have found that SURATURA TEA was immediately lowered in price to the public by the amount of the duty, and tho quality of it being so firmly established, no doubt entered anyone's mind but that the reduction in price was a genuine one, ami that the quality remains fcho 9fitnG. Suratura Tea is gnarantewd NOT blended with Indian or China Tea. HAYNK & LLOYD, Commission Agents, &c, FSILDING. GOLDMINING SHARES.
