TO THE EDITOR. Sib, — The rainfall tor tbo past nioiith was 2*49 inches. In Angast, 1895, it was 205 inches. Rain was registered on 19 days daring the month, the heaviest fall in one day being 0.92 inches registered ou the 14th. There were 13 frosty nights, 12 of which occurred during the first 19 days of the month, and the

thermometer registered 26 degrees (€ below freezing point) on 4 occasions, - The maximum temperature was 64 de> greej on the 31st, and the minimum 26 decrees daring the nights of the 4th, 6th, 9th, and 10th. The mean temperatare at 9.30 a.m. was 43*35, the mean maximum 52*51 and the mean minimum 8509. Tbe corresponding means foi Angnst, 1895. were 44 93, 52 07 and 35-06. I am, &c , Saml. Goodbehkrb.
