(Per Press Association.) Auckland, August 24. ! The Wellington team left for Thames this afternoon to play the Tbamesitis to-morrow.
A match took place at Rangiwahia on Saturday between the Ruahine Football Club and a team from Wairaki. Saywell, (Ruahine) and Marshall, (Wairaki) captained their respective teams. The match was won by Wairaki by 14 points to 12. Marshall and Bielski scored 2 tries each, Marshall converting one of them for the winners, and Saywell scored 2 tries and converted one and, also, kicked a goal from a free kick for Ruabine. The came was very fast and ex* citing from start to finish. For tha winners Marshall, Moran, O'Dwyer, Bielski (backs) and Schmidt, Bell, Clerk i and Busey (forwards) played well, and for Ruahine, Saywell, Spooner, Stansell (Backs) and King, Towler, Collinson, Sands (forwards) played well. Mr F. Ross had command of the whistle and gave every satisfaction. The Rangitikei v Manawatn rep. foot* ball match will be played at Feilding on September 5.
