Oni of tbe accused, Angust Fowler, is chargec with indecent assault on her ; tbe other Walter Anglem, with intent to commit i criminal assault. They baye been re manded for a week. This morning Mrs Randall, a widow aged 50 years, was found dead in bed ai tbe residence of Mrs Grace, Devonport She retired to rest as usual the previom nigbt. Bhe bad a wound two inches long across her throat,. Cloie to her right hand was a very sharp tomahawk of hei own. The tomahawk and the hands ol tbe deceased were blood-stained. Di Roberts said she had been dead threi hoars, and the wounds appeared self-in< flicted. She had almost lost her eye' sight. She was formerly an inmate o! the Gostley Home. A man, name unknown, was found in i dying state in a wbare near a gum digger'i camp, Tokatoka. At the inquest a ver diet of death from cold and starvation wai returned.
