Stock Market.
Messrs Freeman R. Jackson and Co.'i Wanganui stock report is as follows :— The bidding for stock at Wanganni wa brisk, resulting in the yards being clearec at satisfactory prices* with the exceptioi of two pens of old ewes. Only a fey pigs came forward, and these sold a current rates. Cattle— Two and 3-year steers, £i 14s to £3 18s ; young heifers, 30s to 37s fat cows, £3 lls to Jt'4 5s 6d ; other cows £2 6s to L 2 10s. Sheep— Fat wethers, 13s to 13s Id fat ewes, 10s 6d to 10s 8d ; empty ewea 9b 2d ; forward wethers, lls 6d ; hoggets 5s to 6s lOd. Pigs— Porkers, 14s to 16s 8d; smal pigs, 5s 6d to 6s 6d. Mr F. H. Wood reports of the stocl safe held by him at the Taratahi yardi (Wairarapa) yesterday as follows : — Al though all the sheep advertised did no come forward, there was an exception ally good yarding. Cattle, however were not so well represented, old cowi predominating. There was good en quiry for pigs, but only two pens yarded Prices for sheep were a slight improve ment on last sale, all entries sellin] freely at the following : — Fat wethers 12s to 12s 6d ; fat ewes, 10s to 10s 7d ewes and wethers (Southdowna), 10s hoggetts, mixed sexes, 6s 9d ; ewes ii lamb, 8s 5d to 10s |9d ; poor do., 6s 6d Cattle— Cows, L 3 to L 5; heifers, L 3 7i 6d to L 5 ss. Pigs— Small|porkers, lit to 12s.
