o WELLINGTON V. TARANAKI. (Per Press Association.) New Plymouth, August 18. The Wellington - Taranaki f jotball match was played to-day in fine weather. There was a large attendance. After an interesting game Taranaki won by two tries (secured by Bayley and Pear son) to nil. Tbe forwards were eveuly matched, but the Taranaki backs if anything showed to better advantage than the Wellington backs. The Queensland v Canterbury football | match takes place to-morrow, and the J Welliugtou Auckland match on Satar- ; day. !
