The Recent Collision.
o (Per Press Association.) Auckland, August 11. The collision between the Anglian and Rangatira appears to have been more serious than at first imagined. It is stated that the steering gear of the Rangatira was smashed and the propeller twisted. Until the steamer, which was docked to-day, is examined, the extent of the damage cannot be ascertained. The repairs will probably occupy a week. The Collector of Customs is holding an enquiry.
