Li Hung Chang's Visit to England.

(Per Press Association.) London, August 8. The China Association have entertained Li Hung Chang at a banquet. In replying to tbe toast of his health, he referred to the remarkable recognition and to British friendship, and he spoke of the necessity of the extension of commercial relations between Great Britain and China. Li Hung Chang to day laid a wreath on General Gorton statute in Trafalgar Square, and himself acid suifce bowed re- j verently during the ceremony. Affcerwards, in tbe presence of the boys from the Gordon Home, the Chinese Viceroy placed a wreath on Gordon's cenotaph iv St Paul's with the inscription—" To a soldier and a friend of China, in tribute and respect." The Queen has decorated Li Hung Chang.
