Stock Market.

. Q . Messrs Abraham and Williams report: —During the week wo have held sales at Levin, Pauiatua and Palmerstou. The cold weather prevailing at Levin and the generally indifferent class of stock had apparently a funereal effect upon buyers, at any rate not a hoof was disposed of under the hammer. Prices offered afterwards, and in some cases accepted, were full value. Cattle — Weavers, 2 ; 2s Gd ; 20-months heifers, £ti 7s 6d ; fat cows, £4 10s. Sheep — Hog gets, 5s lid ; wethers, 10s to 12s. At Pahiatna last Tuesday the yards were fairly tilled with cattle, they were chiefly female stock and were not required. Sheep, in moderate numbers, met with good competition throughout. Sheep — Fat wethers, 12s 6d to 13s ; others, 11s 6d ; store ewes, 8s ; hoggets, 7s 9d to 9s ; others, 4s lid. Cattle — Kat bullocks, light weights, £5 7s 6d to £5 17s 6d ; choice springing cows, £o to £5 10s ; spring heifers, £'4 15s. At Palmerston yesterday only a few pens of cattle came forward and sold at full rates with the exception of some choice dairy cows that failed to reach vendors' reserves. Sheep, in average numbers, were in excess of those advertised, Bidding opened slowly but improved as the sale progressed, though chiefly in the direction of good stuff. Hoggets advanced in price, other sorts without material change. Sheep — Fat ewes, lls 3d to lls 4d ; fat ewes and wethers, small, 10s 9d ; forward ewes, 9s 9d ; choice Lincoln store wethers, 12s : others 10s 4d to lls lOd ; good hoggets, 8s 8d ; others, 6s ; culls, 4s 2d. Cattle— Fat cows, £5 ; well-bred yearling steers, £2 7s 6d ; 2year do., h> 6s ; yearling heifers, £1 7s 6d ; and privately a line of grown bullocks in freah condition at .£5 ss.
