Wellington Stock and Produce Market.
A. G. Tame and Co. report for the week ending August 3rd : — Fat Sheep. — Strong demand all ronnd. Prime wethers, in good demand, 14s to 15s for best ; medium, 12s 6d to 18s 6d ; fat ewes, lls to 12s 6d. Store sheep — Wstbers very scarce ; up to 12s 6d is being paid for fresh wethers ; hoggets, 8s to 9s 6d ; young ewes in lamb, 10s 6d to Us 6d ; f.f.ms., 7s to Bs. Fat Cattle.— Beef, 17s 6d to 18s ; cows, 14s to 15s. Store cattle— Good weaners, 22s to 28s ; ' yearlings, 85s to 42s ; 2 years steers, JE3 to JE3 7s 6d ; 3 years steers, fresh, Mto £4 10s. Dairy stock — The demand now is mostly for young cows and heifers to calve nest month, and the price is now slightly easier. At our sale at Mr Bramley's, Johnsonville, on Thursday last, the severe weather interfered with the attendance materially, and we disposed of the whole of his pedigree Ayrshires privately to Mr P. Bqrridge at a satisfactory price. Pigs. — The demand is now springing up, and sales readily effected. Baconers, 38s to 45s ; porkers, 20s to 255, and scarce ; slips, 7s to 9s. Horses. — Good draughts are still in demand, but are very scarce, and buyers must be prepared to give up to i'3s for a really good draught. Sheepskins. — Everything coming forward is readily snapped up. Best greeu skins, 4s 6d to 5s 3d ; medium, 8s 9d to 4s ; sound pelted dry skins, ud to 6d lb for best, 4d to 4^d for medium and halfwoolled.
